Both Keota Eagle basketball teams won games at Belle Plaine last night. The Keota boys took a 15-9 lead by the end of the first quarter and stayed in front the rest of the way, leading by nine at halftime and pulling away in the second half to win 72-47 and remain undefeated early in the season.

The Eagle girls had a 10-2 lead after a quarter of play and stretched the advantage out to 21 points by the time they hit the break, cruising from there to a 53-14 victory.

While the boys are now 6-0, the Keota ladies improve to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the East division of the South Iowa Cedar League. Both Eagle teams are now off until Friday when they’ll face Lynnville-Sully.
