The Washington Demon boys’ basketball team looks to pick up a home victory tonight when they take on Oskaloosa in a game you can hear on KCII. Washington is off to a 2-0 start in the Southeast Conference and is tied for first place in the league, but they’ve dropped all three of their non-conference games so far this season.
Junior Drew Conrad leads the team by scoring 14 points per game, while senior Logan McDole does a little bit of everything for Washington, averaging nearly 11 points, three-and-a-half rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest.
Sophomore Nic Stone has also given the Demons a scoring spark by putting up almost 11.5 points a game. Head coach Collin Stark tells KCII Sports he wants all his players at their best tonight as they try to build momentum before the winter holiday break.
“I think that’s the big next step for us,” Stark says, “to get that first non-conference win and get back to 3-3 and see what we can do with the final two games before Christmas.”
Washington will be taking on an Oskaloosa team that has a 2-2 record, with both wins coming against previous Demon opponents in Grinnell and Fairfield. Washington defeated the Indians last season 62-57 and has won five straight meetingS with Osky.
