Statewide, hunters in Iowa have harvested 72,095 deer in 2024 according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. As of Tuesday, there have been 1,051 deer harvested in Washington County this year, including 468 does and 456 antlered bucks. Area counties have had the following totals of deer harvested this year: 950 in Henry County; 1,071 in Iowa County; 902 in Jefferson County; 1,283 in Johnson County; 720 in Keokuk County; and 1,054 in Louisa County. 

The county with the highest number of deer hunted is Clayton County with a total of 3,277.
