Hospice of Washington County invites the community to join them in a tradition of honoring loved ones who have passed. They are offering an opportunity for participants to donate an ornament in memory of a loved one, which will be displayed on their Memorial Trees during the holiday season for years to come. Washington County Director of Bereavement Services Jina Witthoft offers some history on the tradition, “Yes, we have had the memorial trees up, they have been around the community. The last couple of years they have been in our office, and we hold a cookies and cocoa open house for them. They are up in our conference room, the ornaments on them we ask for people to donate ornaments in honor of their loved one. We have an eclectic group of ornaments.” Ornaments can be donated at any time throughout the year and will be showcased during their Memorial Tree Open House. The Memorial Tree Open House will be December 20th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hospice of Washington County, 948 E. 11th St, Washington. All are welcome to attend and share in this celebration.
