Students are encouraged to read over winter break. Teen and Adult Librarian Melissa Fleming of the Wellman Public Library shares the library has ways to stay engaged over break, “We encourage that all the time. It’s actually a great time to help pass some hours away when you’re maybe bored, just come visit the library. We have games you can check out. We have STEM kits. We have a lot of different things, not just books, obviously we have plenty of those. But we just want to encourage people that the library is more than just books. It’s a place where you can check out a lot of different other things to help you just stay active, and encouraged, and engaged in learning and growing, and reading too. Just because sometimes that break can kind of get you in a little bit of a slump, and if you have a big pile of books on hand it will keep you out of that slump.”

The Wellman Public Library is open today and this weekend, with a Noon Year’s Eve Party starting at 11 a.m. on Monday.
