A Vinton man was arrested following a pursuit and vehicle rollover in Riverside this week. At approximately 2:14 am Thursday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office advised dispatch that they were in an active pursuit, approaching speeds of 90mph, that ended with a single vehicle rollover at 3184 Highway 22 in Riverside. The vehicle was on fire and later extinguished. Officials arrested 30-year-old Lance Degan of Vinton on charges of  eluding an officer, more than 25 mph over the speed limit, a Class C felony, OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor, reckless driving, failure to yield to emergency vehicles, improper use of lanes, failure to obey a traffic control device, open container, and failure to maintain or use safety belt. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Ainsworth Fire Department, Ainsworth QRS and Rescue, and Moores Towing. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
