The Lone Tree Lion girls’ basketball team went into the holiday break by continuing a five-game winning streak with a 55-24 victory December 20th at Louisa-Muscatine. Lone Tree jumped out to a 13-4 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back, stretching the advantage to 21 points by halftime.
Finley Jacque scored 16 points to lead Lone Tree and added six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Fellow junior Ava Christofferson had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals, while seniors Vivian Zarbua and Rylee Shield scored nine points each and combined to give the Lions nine steals.
The win moves Lone Tree to 5-2 in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and 7-2 overall. The Lions will get back to action Saturday when they take on Hillcrest Academy.
