The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves rolled to a 62-29 victory over Wapello Friday night in boys’ basketball. A 21-4 lead one quarter in was doubled to 41-8 by halftime, and WMU never slowed down from there, raising their record to 5-1 in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and 5-3 overall.

The Winfield-Mount Union girls saw their three-point lead in the first quarter turn into a one-point halftime deficit to Wapello, but it was when the Arrows started the second half with a 12-3 run that they would firmly seize control.

The Wolves made a late push but would come up short by a final score of 36-31. WMU falls to 1-5 in the Super Conference North and 2-8 in total.
