The Mid-Prairie boys wrestling team joined the fray at Saturday’s English Valleys dual tournament. The Hawks wrestled five duals on the day, winning once, a 42-24 victory over Montezuma. Other scores included loses to Williamsburg 70-6, Iowa Valley 48-21, Grinnell 44-9 and the home Bears 34-33 on tiebreaking criteria G, most major decisions.

Top Golden Hawks on the day included Mason Howe going 5-0 with a fall and a 7-1 decision. Burke Berry was 4-1 with a pair of pins. Josh Turner and Mason Howe each picked up three wins on the day, Turner with 13-9 and 10-5 decisions and Howe with a fall. Peyton Fox, Max Kipp and Brock Fisher also recorded pins at EV. After Saturday, the Golden Hawks have a 3-10 dual record this year and will be back on the mat Thursday when they travel to Northeast Goose Lake.
