PAWS & More Animal Shelter in Washington recently took in more than two dozen animals from a single Washington home, and are now in the process of finding those pets homes. On December 20th, the shelter helped the Washington Police Department and City Officials remove the animals, and now the process of finding them homes can begin. PAWS and More Director Amber Talbot explained their efforts for these animals, “You know it was the Friday before Christmas, we got the call that there were several animals in the home that needed help. And so, you know it was probably the worst situation we’ve ever assisted with, as far as the neglect of not only the animals, but the people in the home as well, and just the overall conditions were something that none of us want for any of our loved ones or can’t even imagine the people living in the way that the situation was, so it was pretty heavy on everyone’s heart.” Currently, the shelter’s greatest need is canned, paté-style dog food. For puppies and seniors with tooth challenges, the smooth food allows for the easiest access to their nutrition. They would also appreciate sheets, towels, pillowcases, bath mats and any old bedding that is washed. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter. The dogs and cats that were rescued are currently available for adoption, and can be found with the link with this news story at KCIIRadio.com.
