A Spencer man faces probation violations related to a felony sex offense in Washington County. On Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report from officials in Cedar Rapids that they had a subject in custody with a Washington County warrant. Officials arrested 37-year-old Martell Guider of Spencer. Guider was found guilty of a felony sex offense in a jury trial in August of 2024 in Washington County. The charges against Guider include Sexual Exploitation of a Minor-Cause to Engage in a Sex Act a Class B Felony, of which he was found guilty. He was acquitted on three other charges. These offenses allegedly took place in Kalona. According to court documents, on October 16th Guider appealed the ruling and his case will be sent to the Iowa Supreme Court. A probation violation was filed on January 2nd and a warrant was issued the same day. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
