The Washington Public Library will be hosting two beginning sewing classes next week for interested individuals. Beginning Sewing 1 will feature sewing a pillowcase. Participants will learn basic sewing skills in three sessions making a bed pillowcase with Jean Frazer. You will learn how to thread the sewing machine, wind a bobbin, cut out your pattern, and sew a basic bed pillowcase. Beginning Sewing 2 will feature the creation of a tote bag. This bag can be made in two sizes, small or large. The sample made for class is the large size, and is 16” x 12” by 6”, about the size of a paper grocery bag. Adult participants must register and be certified for beginning sewing 2. Certify online or talk to staff if you have some sewing experience. There are six spots available for this class. More information on both classes including where to register can be found with the link with this news story at KCIIRadio.com.
