Two local archery teams fired away over the weekend at the East Buc Archery Tournament in Winthrop.

The Washington Demons sent individuals to compete. Best finishes for the high school Demons in bullseye included Hannah Lipski 17th for the girls with a 276 and 12 tens. Braydon Clough was 61st for the boys at 267 with 10 tens. Lipski also led the girls in 3D, taking eighth overall at 276 with 15 tens. Jace Sanders was 14th for the Demon boys at 277 with 13 tens. For the middle schoolers in bullseye Addyson Neer led the way, placing 29th overall in the girls contest with a 257 and seven tens. Christopher Richardson was 83rd for the boys with a 241 and a pair of tens. In 3D, it was the same two Demons on top with Neer 16th overall for the girls with a 239 and six tens and Richardson 33rd for the boys at 246 with eight tens.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks sent teams and individuals to shoot. The High School Hawks finished with a bullseye score of 3215, in sixth of nine schools. Center Point Urbana won with a 3334. Averi Janecek had a top 10 for the girls, shooting 281 with 14 tens for ninth place. Boys leader was Landon Kuenster in 17th with a 278 and 14 tens. Golden Hawk high school 3D placed eighth of eight schools with a 1611. Cedar Rapids Prairie won the team trophy with a 1702. Top Hawks included Johnathon Pickard seventh for the boys with a 280 and 18 tens. For the girls, Lael Seale was 24th at 262 with six tens.

The middle school Hawks were fourth of eight teams in bullseye at 3105, behind Independence and their winning score of 3229. Noah Coblentz turned in the top score of the day for the boys with a 278 and 11 tens to place sixth. For the girls, it was Lara Brenneman 24th with a 257 and six tens. In 3D, the middle schoolers were runners-up at 1535, behind Alburnett’s 1610. Individual leaders were the same pair from bullseye with Coblentz third on the boys side with a 278 and 15 tens and Brenneman in 10th with a 248 and seven tens.

Elementary level bullseye leaders for the Golden Hawks included Ellie Rand fourth overall for the girls at 230 with a ten and Brielle Robertson in eighth. For the boys, Levi Coblentz was third at 249 with six tens and Hoyt Cady was tenth. In 3D, Samuel Newton posted a 250 with 12 tens for third place, with Levi Coblentz 10th in the boys standings. For the girls, Brielle Robertson was ninth at 196.

Both the Demons and Golden Hawks will next be in action Saturday at Mid-Prairie’s home tournament.
