Two semi trucks collided in Washington County near the intersection of 220th Street and Highway 1 and 92. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred at approximately 9:53 a.m. on Tuesday. The call for service indicates that after the collision, one semi continued into a field and the driver appeared to be unconscious. 

The two drivers involved were Brian Richter of Dixon, Illinois, and David Peterson of Albia.

Personnel from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Ambulance, Washington Rescue, Washington Fire Department, Washington EMS, and the Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene. There was no medical transport.

The semis were towed from the scene.
