harvest-5

Governor Kim Reynolds has extended the Harvest Transportation proclamation related to weight of certain vehicles through February 6th. The law immediately went into effect this week. The law is relating to the weight and size of fertilizer, manure and grain all essential to farmers in Iowa. It also will help vehicles transporting corn, hay, straw, soybeans and fertilizer, which can now be overweight without a permit. However, it cannot exceed over 90,000 pounds. This will apply on all highways, except for the interstate.

They also can not exceed over 90,000 pounds in gross weight. Drivers also can not go over 20,000 pounds in axle weight limit according to the Iowa Code. They will still have to look at the weight limit on all roads and bridges to see if they comply.
