Mid-Praire will be hosting the River Valley Conference large group speech contest this weekend. On Saturday, the 18th, students from across the conference will compete in Wellman for the large group speech contest. It will be an all day event filled with students participating in a variety of categories including When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors, Dementia Drama, Medieval Medicine, Mug Life and the Great Escape. 

Last year, there were nine Mid-Prairie speech groups that were selected to state and they hope to continue last year`s success with a good showing on Saturday. It begins at 9 a.m. at the high school;  it’s free to attend and will be accepting donations at the door for spectators.
