Two local girls wrestling teams are back on the mat tonight at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman for the annual Golden Hawk Invitational. The Mid-Prairie girls were last in action Monday at a River Valley Conference quad at West Branch where they scored dual wins over the home Bears and Bellevue but dropped a matchup with Wilton. Mid-Prairie has two ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Ashlee Farrier No. 5 at 130lbs and Ellie Callahan No. 6 at 170lbs according to the latest Class 1A poll from Iawrestle.com. Farrier is the team leader with 29 wins. She recorded her 100th career victory Monday at West Branch. Others with at least 20 victories include Austyn Sexton, Gabby Gingerich, Mardie Berry, Cassie Trimpe and Callahan. Farrier, Sexton, Callahan and Berry all have individual tournament titles this season.

The WACO Warriors last competed Thursday when they hosted a Southeast Iowa Superconference event in Wayland where Rylee Rice won a pair of matches and Elyssa Graber, Deedra Graber and Cayten Coakley each won once. Elyssa Graber leads the Warriors with 25 wins this season, Rylee Rice has won 13 times and Athena Flores 10.

These two teams will be joined tonight by Cardinal, English Valleys, Fort Madison, Iowa City West, Iowa Valley, Louisa-Muscatine, Maquoketa, Mediapolis, Ottumwa, West Liberty and Western Dubuque. Action starts tonight at 4:45p.m. Inside Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
