Another tournament, another title for Sigourney-Keota wrestler Reanah Utterback. The senior won an 11th tournament championship this season by claiming the crown at 115 pounds Thursday at the Cascade Girls’ Invitational. Utterback, the defending state champion at 115, improved to 36-0 this season by winning all three of her bouts by fall.

Sophomore teammate Jayden Montgomery very nearly brought home a title for SK as well, pinning her first two opponents at 130 lbs but getting pinned in the finals to finish in second place. Fellow sophomore Sadie Clarahan was fifth at 125.

The Sigourney-Keota boys also had a productive night at a duals quadrangular Thursday in Brooklyn. SK knocked off hosting BGM on the team scoreboard 49-23 in addition to defeating Lynnville-Sully 54-18, although they would lost 63-10 to Southeast Polk.

Sigourney-Keota was led by senior Ashton Schwab, who won twice by fall at 165 lbs. Owen Menke also picked up a pair of pins at 285, while fellow junior Gavin Khali won a 12-6 decision at 132.

Junior Jacob Libe claimed a 16-8 major decision at 157 lbs for SK, while freshman Dillon Menke won a 16-4 major final at 144. Sigourney-Keota also got pins to win from junior Ayden Parker at 190 and seniors Dawson Meyer and Kaden Kopp at 138 and 175, respectively.
