Plenty of hardware was handed out Friday night in Wellman at the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk Girl’s Wrestling Invitational.

The home Golden Hawks took second place in the team chase with 162 points. They were edged by Western Dubuque’s 163.5. Mid-Prairie crowned four champions on the day. Austyn Sexton was the winner at 110lbs, pinning Iowa Valley’s Eva Kriegel in the final. Gabby Gingerich got gold at 115lbs, scoring a pin in the title bout over McKayla Schinstock of Fort Madison. Ashlee Farrier was first at 130lbs, beating Mara Smith of Fort Madison in the final. Cassie Trimpe won at 155lbs, beating Danika Murdock of West Liberty in the finals by fall. The Golden Hawks had three runners-up with Emmerson Moore at 135lbs, Mardie Berry at 145 and Ellie Callahan at 170 all reaching the finals. Layken Lee was fifth at 140.

The WACO Warriors were ninth with 40 points. WACO’s Elyssa Graber was best at 105lbs, winning the championship bout over Elli Casey of Western Dubuque by pin. Cayten Coakley was fourth 120 and Deedra Graber fifth at 110.
