Join the Washington Great Places Committee for a Community Celebration and Visioning Event as they celebrate a new chapter for downtown Washington. They invite all community members to come together, share ideas, and collaborate with the Washington Great Places Committee to help shape the future of our vibrant district. Great Places Committee chair Millie Youngquist gave more insight into what the committee hope to gain from the evening, “To brainstorm and get input from the public, about different things they would like to see enhanced, what is your favorite event downtown, where do you think we should maybe put up more public art? We already have murals in various locations, but I’m sure there are more possible locations. What art programs would you like to see enhanced? So this is going to be an exciting thing. And I hope people will, not just the people who are artists, the creators, all kinds of people, children, adults, senior citizens will come to share their ideas for the future of Washington.” The event will be held January 22nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at Art Domestique Gallery, 118 South Iowa Avenue, and will feature a celebration of the Cultural and Entertainment District designation, opportunities to share your vision and ideas for the future of Downtown Washington, and collaborative discussions with the Washington Great Places Committee.
