Keota High School will be having their annual homecoming this week. The festivities started a week ago with events beginning last Monday. They included the elections for the homecoming court, dress up week, “Eagles Olympics Competition” and the pep rally. Keota will be hosting Iowa Valley on in basketball this Friday. If you are interested, you can buy homecoming buttons and they are $1 each.
Last week, students participated in the dress up week which included Beach day on Monday, dress like a teacher day on Tuesday, Olympic theme on Wednesday and Eagle spirit day on Thursday. The homecoming court was announced on Thursday. The names for the girls included Izzi Chalupa, Grace Conger, Ava Greiner and Lainey Swanson. The boys that were announced on the court were Jace Chalupa, Billie Kindred, Issiac Striegel and Jax Weber. They also had Eagle fan scouts, which were Niveah Gutierrez and Landyn Greiner. Teachers will need to have their ballots for the king and queen no later than Wednesday at 3:50 PM.
On Thursday they will announce the king and queen. On Wednesday they will have the Eagles Olympics. On Thursday they will have their pep rally, which is when they introduce the homecoming court and the eagle fan & escort along with announcing the king and queen. They will finish the festivities with the girls and boys basketball game. Keota will take on Iowa Valley on Friday night. After the game, they will have the homecoming dance.
It will cost $5 per couple and $3 per person, which will last until 11:30.
