The Keota boys and girls basketball team will travel to Sigourney on Tuesday for a rivalry game. The Eagles will take on the Savages in a KCII Area Game of the Week double header. The Eagle boys are 13-2 overall and 9-1 in the South Iowa Cedar East conference. Keota is coming off a 77-56 win over Moravia on Friday, where Billie Kindred led the way with an impressive 34 points. The Eagle boys are having a great year as they are averaging 69.5 points per game, which is first in the conference. They average 17.9 assists per game, 39.5 boards per game and 10.1 steals per game, which are all best in the conference. They also have the best shooting percentage at 44%. The Eagles shoot 33.9% at the three point line, which is also top in the conference. Billie Kindred is having a great season as he is averaging 24.5 points and 14.6 boards per game. Chase Haifley is averaging 8.1 assists per game, which is the second best in class 1A.

The Sigourney boys are 9-4 overall and 6-4 in the conference. The Savages are coming off a 67-32 blowout win over HLV. For the season, they average 65.9 points, second in the conference, 33.6 rebounds, third in the conference, 14 assists, second in the conference, 8.7 steals per game, third in the conference and 3.2 blocks per game, second in the conference. Isaac Brown leads the team with 18.5 points per game. John Berg leads the team with 12.5 rebounds per game. Ike Molyneux is averaging 5.1 assists per game along with 1.7 steals per game. 

The Eagle girls come into the game at 7-9 and 3-7 in the conference. In their last game, they took down Moravia 46-38 to get their fifth win in six games. Keota started the season 1-5 and now find themselves just two games below 500. Cameron Haifley had 17 points in the win over Moravia. The Eagles are averaging 44 points per game, 27.9 rebounds, 9 assists, shooting 48.5% at the free throw line and have a 29.5% shooting percentage. At the three point line, they shoot 23.9%. In points, the Eagles are second in the conference, second in assists per game, fourth in rebounds and third in steals. Cameron Hailfey leads the team with 10.2 points per game, while Emily Conger averages 9.7 points.

The girls basketball team at Sigourney is also having a great season. They are 10-4 on the year and 7-3 in the conference, which is good enough for first in the conference. In their last game, they got a win over Wilton 70-57 on Monday. In Monday`s game, they were trailing in the first quarter, but came back and won every quarter after that to get the victory. For the season, they are scoring 57.8 points per game, which is the best in the South Iowa Cedar East conference. They are allowing 45.7 points, but they are getting 14 steals per game, which is top in the conference. The Savages dish out 10 assists per game, haul in 30 rebounds per game and average 1.7 blocks per game. They have a 35.4% field goal percentage, shoot 24% at the three point line and 59.6% at the free throw line. All those stats are top 5 in the conference. They are led by the pair of Brynn Clarahan and Josephine Moore. They are first and third in the conference with 18.8 and 18.1 points per game.
