The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team takes over Tim Grady Gymnasium Thursday for a Senior Night River Valley Conference quad against Durant, West Liberty and Wilton.

The Hawks have a 5-16 dual record this year after one winning one of three at a quad at Anamosa last week. Mid-Prairie was last in action Saturday at the WACO Warrior Invitational where they finished 13th as a team. Tommy Miller was the top place-winner finishing second at 215lbs, Burke Berry was third at 285 and Brock Fisher fifth at 215. Berry is the wins leader this year with 23. Max Howe is second with 20. Other Golden Hawks in double digits include Mason Howe, Josh Turner and Miller. Berry was the individual tournament winner at New London early in the season. Mid-Prairie dropped these three matchups at this event a year ago in Wilton, falling to Durant 39-36, West Liberty 66-15 and the home Beavers 69-9.

Durant comes into Thursday with an 8-14 dual record. They were on the mat at the Ron Scott Duals at Mt. Ayr Saturday where they went 2-6, scoring wins over East Union and the home Pirates. The Wildcats have one ranked wrestler in their lineup according to the latest poll Class 1A poll from Iawrestle.com with Trey Ramer checking in at No 10 at 132lbs. Ramer is the team leader with 30 wins. Other Wildcats with 20 or more include Gunner Klahn at 138lbs, Kadyn Kraklio at 165lbs and Kamdyn Kraklio at 190lbs.

West Liberty is an undefeated 18-0 this dual season. They were at Solon’s Ed Hadenfeldt Invitational Saturday where they finished fifth of 14 teams, led by individual champions Ryan Cassady at 113lbs and Briggs Collins at 150lbs. The Comets have three ranked wrestlers in their lineup according to the latest 2A poll from Iawrestle.com with Cassady No. 11 at 113, Kaden Wiele No. 10 at 157lbs and Ryker Dengler No. 4 at 165lbs. Wiele is the team leader at 30 wins with teammates Marcus Cardona at 106lbs, Cassady, Isaac Aragon and Noah Garcia at 120, Tully Griffith at 126, Mason Alke at 138, Collins and Dengler all with 20 or more.

Wilton is 16-1 on the dual season. They won the team tournament championship at the Marion Invitational Saturday scoring 203 points. The Beavers had five champions on the day including Austin Etzel at 113lbs, Mason Shirk at 126, Owen Adlifinger at 132, Jordan Dusenberry at 144 and Owen Milder at 152. The Beavers are the No. 3 ranked dual team in Class 1A according to Iawrestle.com and have nine ranked wrestlers in their lineup including Etzel No. 5, Liam Adlfinger No. 1 at 120, Shirk No. 4, Owen Adlfinger No. 4, Gabriel Brisker No. 3 at 138lbs, Dusenberry No. 7, Jensen Boorn No. 11 at 150lbs, Milder No. 11, and Gatlin Rogers No. 2 at 190lbs. Romann Derksen leads Wilton with 30 wins this year, Other Beavers with at least 20 victories include Liam Adlfinger, Shirk, Owen Adlfinger, Brisker, and Rogers.

Mid-Prairie will honor their six seniors including Collin O’Rourke, Mason Howe, Max Howe, Dom Shively, Quinn Callahan and Burke Berry with a ceremony during the evening. Action starts tonight at 5:30p.m. At Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
