January is National Blood Donor Month and Washington County 4-H County Council is hosting a blood drive to help with the efforts. The drive will be held on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall. The group will be working with ImpactLife. According to ImpactLife, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. This urgent need spans emergencies and treatments like cancer therapy, surgeries, and transplants, yet, only three percent of eligible Americans donate. With a 40 percent rise in donors over 65, there’s an urgent call for younger, more diverse donors. If you are interested in donating, you can register online at the link with this news story at KCIIRadio.com.
