The future move of the Washington County Public Health Department was a topic of discussion at the Board of Health meeting Thursday. Public Health Fiscal Administrator Peggy Wood gave an update to the board, “I have been in contact with the president of the bank, and we have confirmed that effective July 1 we will move to a month-to-month lease. And we just have to stay in contact with them, because we do have to provide a 30-day notice to vacate. So, I know that in conversations with the building project, I think the date that is being tossed around is the end of June, so really we are looking at the end of July, just to give us some time. As it gets closer and once construction starts, it hasn’t started yet. So in speaking with Federation Bank, we just have to stay really close to them in terms of what we are doing.” Along with the move, Public Health will be responsible for moving or supplying their own furniture at the Orchard Hill Complex. They are planning on applying for a Washington County Riverboat Grant this spring to facilitate funds for clinic furniture.
