
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams step outside of conference play tonight, hosting the Mount Pleasant Panthers. The Mid-Prairie girls are 11-3 this year, 7-1 in the River Valley, winners of three straight including West Liberty Friday 65-22. On the year, the Golden Hawks average 62 points per game and give up 43, shooting 40% from the floor, 29% from deep and 66% from the floor with 37 rebounds, 17 steals, 16 assists and 18 turnovers per game. Individually, Callie Huber leads with 12 points and nine boards per game, Katelyn Harland has four assists and Jeorgia Evans four steals per game.
Mount Pleasant is 3-10 overall 1-5 in conference play after a Friday loss to Danville 35-31. This year, the Panthers score 33 points per game and give up 48 on 35% shooting, 22% from three and 51% at the line with 26 rebounds, eight steals, seven assists and 26 turnovers per game. Individually, Abby Carthey scores 10 points to go with three steals and two assists per game. Addison Clark is the leader at six boards. Mount Pleasant has won two of three against Mid-Prairie, but the Hawks were a 61-51 winner in 2023.

This year, the Hawks score 66 points per game and give up 51, shooting 45% from the floor, 36% from three and 72% from the line with 32 rebounds, 13 assists, eight steals and 14 turnovers per game. Individually, Bryce Henry is best at 22 points per game, Conner Wiles with six rebounds and Brady Weber with four assists and two steals per night.
Mount Pleasant is 1-11 this year, 0-7 in the Southeast Conference after a 62-44 loss to Fort Madison last time out. The Panthers score 47 per night and give up 58 on 37% shooting, 31% from three and 60% at the line with 29 rebounds, 12 assists, five steals and 17 turnovers per game. Individually, Aiden Humble scores 10 with a steal per night, Noah Lange eight boards and Ian Reid with two assists. Mt. Pleasant has won 14 of the 20 all-time meetings between the two schools, including 66-59 in 2023.
