The Highland and WACO School Boards have announced their next shared superintendent. The schools announced Friday evening that the role will be filled by Spencer Lueders. Three finalists were interviewed for the position. 

In December, current Superintendent Ken Crawford announced his retirement and he will finish his tenure in June. WACO and Highland have shared the superintendent position since 2021.

Lueders is currently the 4th-6th grade intermediate principal at Central Dewitt Community School District. He will begin his time as superintendent on July 1st, pending formal board approval at their next meeting.
