The Washington Large Group Speech Team will be sending seven groups to the state competition. The Demons competed at the Keota High School district competition on January 25th. The groups advancing to state include Claire Wubbena and Luna Morris for Ensemble Acting; Katherine Flannery, Isabella Lujan, and Quintyn Garibay for Ensemble Acting; Wubbena, Flannery, and Adamari Mendoza for Musical Theater; Quincy Griffis and Tyler Burroughs for Musical Theater; Keyla Aranda Terrones, Griffis, Garibay, and Morris for Group Improvisation; Kyann Miller, Zully Aranda Terrones, Ayden Vargas, Skylin Stoutner, and Olivia Klinzman for Short Film; and Lujan, Mendoza, Aranda Terrones, Lauren Horak, Mila Hansen, Burroughs, and Jaelyn Entsminger for a One Act Play. 

The group will be hosting a free showcase this evening for the public in preparation for the state competition. It will be held in the High School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. They will be competing at the state level in Cedar Rapids Washington High School on February 8th.
