Hershberger said, “Our girls stepped up. Washington hit a couple of big shots and we were able to come back with a big shot to answer ourselves, or get a big stop to keep our lead. Really proud of how our girls stuck with it. It’s a confidence builder going to the next one, especially this time of year, you want to have competitive games where you’re finding ways to get the job done. Really proud of our effort tonight!”

Monday, Golden Hawk head coach Daren Lambert joined the KCII Postgame Show following his team’s loss to Washington.
Lambert said, “We didn’t respond to the moments of adversity quickly or consistently enough. We have zero turn around time to go back and correct those things. It’s a lot of self-reflection. When you wake up Tuesday you have to be ready to go. It’s a sour taste in the mouth, but one way to look at it is you don’t have to wait long to come back. Definitely not please with what happened tonight, or Friday against Wilton, it’s the first two game skid this season, and we have to respond. That’s what we challenged them with in the locker room after the game.”
Mid-Prairie has won seven of nine in the series including a 78-42 road win in January. The Golden Hawks will honor seniors Brylee Gearhart, Callie Huber, Ace Peck, Brady Weber, Keegan Bauwens, Traevin Gugel, Conner Wiles and Landon Kos with ceremonies during the night. You can hear all of the action live tonight on AM 1380, FM 102.5, the KCII2 App and KCIIradio.com, beginning with the Golden Hawk Basketball Pregame Show at 5:30, Unc N Nephs Food & Brew Tip of the girls game at six with the boys to follow from Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
