A Winfield woman died in a single-vehicle wreck early Saturday. According to the Iowa State Patrol, shortly after midnight on Saturday, 50-year-old Michelle Moore was the driver in a fatal car crash. 

Moore was driving a 2015 Ram pickup truck. The truck was eastbound on Highway 78, west of Winfield, near mile marker 41 when for unknown reasons it went off the road at approximately 12:40 a.m. The vehicle came to rest and caught fire. 

The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene, as did the Winfield Fire Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Henry County Medical Examiner. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
