The bottom line is tax dollars should be spent wisely, and to further US objectives. And I guess there is some feeling that that hasn’t happened.” USAID said thousands of employees would be put on leave. In a statement, the agency said exceptions would be made for “mission-critical functions, core leadership and specially designated programs”, but it is unclear what exactly that includes.
