At their meeting on Wednesday, the Washington School Board will be discussing the possibility of a four-day school week. The district sent out a survey to parents, students, and staff, and discussed the results at a work session held on February 5th. The results of the survey were shared by the district, and a link to those results can be found with this news story at KCIIRadio.com. 

When asked “Do you want to change to a four-day school week?” students, parents and staff could answer yes, no, maybe, or “I support either option.” Of the 229 staff responses, 33.2% said yes, 24.9% said no, 12.2% said maybe, and 29.7% said they’d support either option. Of the 372 student responses, 43.8% said yes, 37.1% said no, 5.4% answered maybe, and 13.7% said they’d support either option. Of the 369 parents who participated in the survey, 36.9% said yes, 31.7% said no, 26% said they’d support either option, and 5.4% said maybe.

The School Board meeting will be held in the High School Auditorium on February 12th, set to begin at 7 p.m.
