U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley was asked what effect could come from the United States leaving the World Health Organization (WHO). He answered, “We’re getting out of the world health organization, because we think that they have not cooperated with us on the investigation on where the pandemic came from, and we think it came from China. And I think we are going to be able to prove that pretty soon. But the world health organization doesn’t back us up on that.” One of the main ways in which the U.S. government supports WHO is through its voluntary contributions. These contributions have been halted under the Executive Order from President Trump. The U.S. has historically been the single largest contributor to WHO.
