The Washington School District will not be moving to a four-day school week.
During their meeting on Tuesday evening the Washington School Board made the decision in a unanimous vote. After gathering community input and information via a survey to parents, students and staff, the Board came to their decision. The motion was made to not move to a four-day week, but to revisit the topic after gathering more information about the questions that were raised by parents and community members. Topics that the board wants more information on include, child care, food insecurity, and test scores. The motion included revisiting the option of a four-day week at this year’s October meeting. More information will be gathered and shared with the board before the October meeting.
