
Restrictions related to transportation of and access to heating and motor fuels have been eased by the governor. Kim Reynolds has issued a proclamation through February 28th at 11:59 p.m. to suspend the regulatory provisions of Iowa Code that pertain to the hours of service for crews and drivers who deliver propane, diesel, natural gas, and other fuels that are used for heating purposes in residential, agricultural, and commercial settings.
The proclamation comes at a time when the state is experiencing extremely cold weather. In Washington, temperatures have dipped below zero the past two days. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities states dangerous wind chills are expected across the area through Thursday. People are reminded to limit time outdoors to prevent risk of frostbite and hypothermia.
