The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves had their girls’ basketball season draw to a close Tuesday after a 63-31 loss to Springville in the Class 1A Region 7 quarterfinals.

WMU fell behind 17-4 by the end of the first quarter, and while they kept the deficit at 13 points going into the final period, they would be on the wrong end of a 22-3 run by Springville to close out the game. The season ends for Winfield-Mount Union with a record of 6-17. The Wolves will now say goodbye to lone senior Josie Nelson.
