The City of Keota has been awarded a grant to add 34 trees to town. The $4,420 is coming from Alliant Energy. Keota is one of 32 communities across the state receiving these funds through the company’s Community Tree Planting program. This program is part of Alliant Energy’s One Million Trees Initiative and they partner with Trees Forever to select and plant a diverse mix of trees.
More than 1.1 million trees have been planted since 1990 through the partnership of Trees Forever and Alliant Energy. Communities are eligible to apply for grants up to $5,000 to add trees to their canopies.
