The KCII-listening area has experienced sub-zero temperatures as of late, but despite the drop in temperatures ice fishing is not recommended at Lake Darling currently. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, as of Thursday, conditions were rated as unsafe at Lake Darling for ice fishing. Approximately 20 acres of open water remains. Some areas have refrozen but are not considered thick enough to walk on at this time.
