Three members of the Sigourney-Keota boys and girls bowling team rolled into Cadillac XBC in Waterloo Monday for the individual Class 1A State Tournament.
The SK girls duo was led by Jayden Montgomery who finished prelims with a 600 series to place seventh and qualify for finals. Her top game was her lead off of 211. In championship bracket action, Montgomery dropped a quarterfinal to two seed Callie Arens of Marcus, Meriden, Cleghorn, Remsen Union 249-201. She bounced back in consolation action to secure a 197-184 win over Kamryn Taylor of Louisa Muscatine. Montgomery fell in the fifth place match to Abbi Nylin of Camanche 215-213 to finish in sixth place.
Sigourney-Keota’s Sophie Young placed 17th in prelims with a 525 series, highlighted by a 200 game in her second of three.
For the SK boys Landyn Greiner was 12th in prelims with a 666 series, including a 290 first game.
