The Wellman City Council met to put together plans to fund their portion of the bridge replacement project underway on 9th Avenue and Gingko. The city’s portion of the project is $600,000 for the engineering work. The construction, which began last month, is completely funded by State and Federal grants. The project was approved in March of 2022 for a total $904,000. The new structure will replace the old bridge, originally built in 1928, and widened during a 1964 State DOT project. The replacement bridge will be roughly 110 feet long. Work is expected to be completed mid-summer.
