Fun learning opportunities don’t stop at the end of the school day for students at Lincoln Elementary in Washington this spring. Washington County 4-H, in coordination with Washington Schools and sponsorships from Bazooka Farmstar and Premier 1 Supplies, are offering a pair of after-school Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Clubs for kids in third through fifth grade.

Students will meet in the Lincoln Library on club days from 3:30-5 p.m. to explore hands-on science investigations. Each club will tackle a different topic with the first from April 7th-9th titled “Exploring Constellations and Stars” and the second from April 28th to May 1st titled “Investigating Bones and Muscles.” Cost per camper is $10. Students can sign up for one or both camps with registrations accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Current teacher Madison Sheetz and retired science teacher Mark Berhow will serve as camp instructors, representing Washington County Extension and Outreach. For more information contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
