It was another outstanding boys’ basketball season for the Keota Eagles, and four players who spearheaded their success walk away with all-conference accolades in the South Iowa Cedar League.
Leading the way is Billie Kindred, who receives a first-team selection after being one of the most dominant players in the state. The senior piled up a whopping 24-and-a-half points per game to lead Keota and finish top 10 in the state, but he also pulled down 14 rebounds per contest to end up second in Class 1A in rebounding.
Point guard Chase Haifley gets a second-team nod for the Eagles after piling up the third-most assists in the state across all classes, but the junior could also score and defend at a high level, averaging almost 16 points, eight assists and three steals a game.
Honorable mentions for Keota go to senior Jace Chalupa, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds per game, and junior Jackson Vittetoe, who helped the Eagles go 19-5 and win 12 conference games on their way to capturing the East division title in the SICL.
