A local non-profit organization is the newest member of the Washington Chamber of Commerce. PLANT Washington is developing a community orchard and garden for the public on City-owned property. The groundbreaking for the orchard was held last year, and garden plots will be available this spring for public lease with a fee. Students at Washington High School are constructing 24 cedar garden beds for the site near the corner of South Avenue C and West Van Buren Street in Washington.
