Three members of the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls basketball team put together performances this season that earned spots in the school’s record book.
Golden Hawk junior Katelyn Harland set a new Mid-Prairie record knocking down 92.9% of her free throws on the season, going 13 of 14 at the stripe. Her teammate Brooklyn Schneider was third all-time in the same category at 82.6% after finishing 33 of 39 at the line. The previous record was held by Kyra Hershberger, Class of 2004.
Schneider, a sophomore, tied a long-standing Mid-Prairie record, hitting six threes in a single game, a Golden Hawk overtime road win at West Liberty. Schneider joins Golden Hawk greats BJ Duwa Class of 2000, and Sarah Larsen, Class of 2002, for most in school history.
Mid-Prairie senior Callie Huber grabbed an impressive 17 rebounds this season in a road win at Durant, tied for second most in a game in school history with Landry Pacha, Class of 2023.
Mid-Prairie ended the season with a 16-6 overall record.
