diaper-drive-2025

The community is asked to donate packages of diapers or wipes to help some of the youngest residents in Washington County. Washington For Justice is hosting the diaper drive now through April 15th. Dan Henderson with Washington For Justice shares why the non-profit organization is coordinating this effort, “The need sort of came to our attention that first of all, just looking at some of the poverty statistics in our county, and realizing that there are quite a few households that don’t really have enough money to even afford things like basic diapers, if they have young ones. And as we looked into this we found, you know, it can cost somewhere around $70, $80, $90 a month, just for diapers. And it’s so important for children to be taken care of in that way. So we thought we would start this drive to collect as many packages of diapers as we can.”

Diapers and wipes can be dropped off at boxes located at the Washington Methodist Church, the Washington Mennonite Church, the United Presbyterian Church, Dodici Shop, Hy-Vee, Northside Diner, or the Washington Public Library. Monetary donations are also welcomed and can be made by contacting Washington For Justice. They are working with HACAP to distribute the donations to families in the area who are in need.
