It was a big Saturday for Golden Hawk Archery Club shooters at the South Tama Tournament last month. The high school Hawks swept the team titles. In bullseye, the Hawks put together a 3350 day to beat Aplington-Parkersburg’s 3266. Lael Seale was girls runner-up with her 292 that included 22 tens. Other girls top tens were Averi Janecek fourth, Sophia Puttmann fifth, Ava Miller seventh, Stella Janecek eighth, and Harlee West ninth. Elijah Statler led the boys in third with a 286 and 18 tens. Other top ten Hawks were Landon Kuenster fourth, and Johnathon Pickard fifth. In 3D, the Hawk’s winning score was 1685, over Aplington-Parkersburg’s 1616. Kuenster’s 288 with 21 tens led Mid-Prairie and gave him the boys runner-up spot. Other top ten boys Hawks were Elijah Statler fourth, and Johnathon Pickard fifth. Madelyn Sieren led the Golden Hawk girls with a 284 and 17 tens for a runner-up finish. Other top ten Hawks were Lael Seale third, Averi Janecek seventh, Sophia Puttman eighth and Ava Miller 10th.

The middle school Hawks were team bullseye runners-up with a 3144, falling to Aplington-Parkersburg by 20. Beckett Miller was best for the Mid-Prairie boys in fifth with a 270 and 14 tens. Preston Ford was eighth. Lara Brenneman led the girls taking sixth with a 265 and 10 tens. Brooklyn Liska was seventh. In 3D, the Golden Hawks were fourth at 1521, Grand View were the winners at 1541. Levi Luers was boys leader in fourth with a 260 and seven tens. Beckett Miller made top ten in ninth. For the girls, Kylee Berry finished sixth with a 253 and seven tens. Lara Brenneman was ninth.

The elementary Hawks saw Samuel Newton win an individual title in boys 3D with a 240 and 10 tens. Top girls score was Jenna Puttmann third at 214 with three tens. Zayley Jaspering was fourth, Brielle Robertson fifth, Monica Beachy sixth, and Tessa Luers seventh. In block, Samuel Newton scored 242 with three tens to place third for the boys. Sam Troyer was ninth. Ellie Rand led the Golden Hawk girls in third with a 238 and four tens. Zayley Jaspering was fifth, and Jenna Puttmann sixth.
