The Sigourney Savages had another outstanding season in girls’ basketball, winning their division of the South Iowa Cedar League and making it to a regional final. Now, four players who were key cogs in their winning machine are receiving all-conference honors.
That group includes senior Josephine Moore, who is a unanimous first-team selection. In her final season at Sigourney, Moore averaged team highs of almost 18 points and 11 rebounds per game while shooting over 49 percent from the field and also knocking down a team-best 76% of her free-throw attempts.
Brynn Clarahan also makes the first team as a freshman after collecting the second-most steals in the state in Class 1A, coming up with an average of over six steals per contest.
In addition, Clarahan scored 17 points a game and averaged nearly six rebounds and four-and-a-half assists. Honorable mentions go to seniors Ava Fisch and McKinley Chittick, who helped the Savages win 11 conference games and post an overall record of 19-6.
