
After another wrestling season in the Southeast Conference, six grapplers earn all-conference honors for the Washington Demons. That includes senior Aaron Boone, who is not only a first-team selection at 132 pounds but is also named the Southeast Conference Boys’ Co-Wrestler of the Year.
Boone had a record of 50-4 and finished third in the state in Class 2A in his weight class. In addition to setting a new single-season school record for wins and winning his third career state medal, Boone earned Academic All-State accolades for making the state tournament as an upperclassman while also having a grade-point average of 3.75 or better.
Sophomore Blaine Rees is also a first-team all-conference choice for Washington at 165 lbs after going 38-12 and finishing third in Class 2A District 12. Senior Nate Edmonds makes the second team at 113 with a record of 35-13, while sophomore Greyson Hartman gets a second-team nod after going 29-12 at 215.
Senior Peggy Miller gets a second-team selection at 145 lbs for the Demon girls after she went 31-10, while sophomore Rhya Wellington also makes the second team at 135 after going 26-19. Academic all-conference honors for Washington go to Miller, Boone, Edmonds, Jude Carter, Caden Greiner and Brandon Cortes Hernandez.
