A new season is about to begin for Keota Eagles track and field. Keota again has a young team, but this time one with more experience. Ayden Galindo shined for the Eagles in the boys’ high jump in his freshman season, including a fourth-place finish at the South Iowa Cedar League Championships.

Meanwhile, Izzi Chalupa will be one of the senior leaders for the Keota girls in the long jump, while sprinters like junior Olivia Lyle are starting to emerge as consistent medal contenders after a top-10 finish in the conference in the 200-meter dash. Eagles head coach Dan Stout tells KCII Sports that he’s excited about his teams.
