A local man has donated another $500,000 to the Washington County Hospital Foundation. LeRoy Havel signed a check last week donating $500,000 to the foundation, which matches his previous donation made last May. Havel’s total contributions of $1 million make it the largest private donation that the foundation and WCHC have ever received, according to the hospital.

WCHC shared in a statement that Havel had multiple stays in their inpatient unit and was “moved by the exceptional care and dedication of the hospital staff” to provide the monetary support. Havel does so in memory of his late wife, Colleen, his brother Bob and wife Patricia, and his parents Roy and Lillian Havel.

The recent donation will be used for enhancing medical services and infrastructure.
